The Ballad of Musicon 5 (Snowcon)

words by W. Scott Snyder

TTTO: Northwest Passage, by Stan Rogers

Am          C              G                        C

I went to Musicon in Nashville, Tennessee

Am           C                             G                    F

To see old friends and maybe sing a song or three

Am                         C                G                 F

I didn’t know when I arrived I was in such a fix

       C                                          Am          G

I’d driven right into the heart of Blizzard ’96

CHORUS:

                           C         G                    Am                       F

Now I can’t go home ‘til they make a Northwest Passage

                      C                         Am                     F                  G

Kentucky closed the border I’ll have to stay another day

                                 C   G                   Am                   F

The trip to Illinois would be far to white and savage

                              C                          G                 C

‘Til they make a Northwest Passage to U-C

Bill and Brenda Sutton thought that they would get away

By heading south that they would not be forced to stay

They checked the forecast and they could not do a thing

Atlanta had three inches and they closed up ‘til the spring

CHORUS

So we called the THP and we called the airport too

But at an inch a minute there was too much snow to move

When we finally realized that we’d better just dig in

We hit the Sled Dog Party and we all were heard to sing

CHORUS
